The sky is sure pouring down blessings on us here in Houston. This week we were able to help this lady from Taiwan move a ton of things in her house because it flooded. Her house got flooded last year and it ruined her whole house so she moved all her things into her house in her backyard. This year that house flooded and her house. It was a mess but it was fun and I love providing service. She goes back to Taiwan tomorrow but she’ll be back and we’ll teach her the restored gospel and she’ll be baptized for sure!
So we taught English class at an old folks home and then afterward while we were backing up the car we saw some car that had flipped another car 90 degrees and we wanted to take a picture so we ran over there. Then we got pulled into helping the Chinese lady translate for the police and she hit this Vietnamese guy’s car so we called the Vietnamese Elders and then they came. It was intense at the beginning. All these Chinese people yelling at each other and then the white people were yelling at them and we were translating everything for the apartment manager. The fire department came in case there was a fire. Luckily in the end, no one was hurt and that lady really shouldn’t drive anymore but I don’t know what happened there. She’s gotten in 4 accidents in the last 5 months.
There are the fun stories of the week.
*** got the Priesthood on Sunday! Now we can go on splits with him. We also started a new Sunday school class for the youth that don’t speak English. It sure will help *** (our newest baptism) understand what’s going on in Church.
We taught this lady named Sister *** and she’s really cool. She started crying when we taught er about God. I didn’t know what to do! She’s a really special lady, she really likes us too!
We’re still having a great time in the Chinese Trinity. We don’t know if the new Hong Kong Elder will be coming in but we’ll pray that he comes in. We have a great week coming up and we have a few people that are going to become news next week and I know we can help them progress towards baptism. Time sure is flying by here in the mission, it’s crazy! It’s already May!! Mother’s day next week!! Also, Shayla is now 16!!
I Will Obey In May, that’s our missions goal this month. We’re seeing what will happen if everyone strives to be perfectly obedient. It should be interesting. I’m sure mission wide miracles will take place!!
In Mosiah 2:41, King Benjamin teaches us this principle. “I would desire that ye should consider on the blessed and happy state of those that keep the commandments of God,” he counseled. “For behold, they are blessed in all things, both temporal and spiritual; and if they hold out faithful to the end they are received into heaven, that thereby they may dwell with God in a state of never-ending happiness. O remember, remember that these things are true; for the Lord God hath spoken it”
Great things are promised to us in this scripture. Are you willing to keep the commandments? Something to think about this week.
Love Ya’ll out there!
