Week 79! March 7, 2016

Hello! Last week of the Chinese Trio!

Elder Freeland will be coming in tomorrow and he’s be going with Elder Peterson. We don’t know when our Hong Kong and Malaysia Elder will come in. So Elder Zhang and I will keep working together until he goes home in 5 weeks. We don’t know what will happen after that. We will see!

*** got confirmed this week and we thought he wasn’t going to make it to Sacrament but last minute he came in. He said something happened at work and people didn’t want him to come to church and he knew it was Satan trying to keep him from getting the Holy Ghost. He came just in time and now he’s a member!!

This week felt like a long time. We went to the zoo on Monday and that seems like such a long time ago. It’s been a long time since I’ve been to the zoo. Our investigator got us in for free.

Cool thing *** said. He told us when he got baptized he felt like he was under the water for 20 minutes. Pretty cool. *** always has the coolest experiences. Now we can bring him out with us in the evenings!!

This week we had great attendance at church. Except everyone stayed for 2 hours and then missed sacrament meeting! At least they came for part of church. We also had some members bring their family members who aren’t members!

We’re really focusing on planning and goal setting as a mission. We need to have a vision to baptize and we need to plan and set goals to obtain that vision. Hopefully we can start baptizing monthly!!

Some scriptures of the week.

2 Nephi 2:2 Nevertheless, Jacob (See that’s me), my first-born (me also) in the wilderness, thou knowest the greatness of God; and he shall consecrate thine afflictions for thy gain.
God will truly consecrate (make holy) all thy afflictions.

Alma 30:8 For thus saith the scripture: Choose ye this day, whom ye will serve.
What side do you want to be on. One side has billions of points, the other has a few million, in the end though, who’s going to win?

Helaman 12:3 And thus we see that except the Lord doth chasten his people with many afflictions, yea, except he doth visit them with death and with terror, and with famine and with all manner of pestilence, they will not remember him.
God really does give us hard times and troubles just so we remember he’s there. If life is too good, we forget about God

Romans 5:19 For as by one man’s disobedience many were made sinners, so by the obedience of one shall many be made righteous.
Being obedient will not only affect you but will help many come unto christ

Love ya’ll out there,

Elder Wimmer
