Time goes by WAY TOO FAST!!!!! Another week gone and it’s P-day again. Here’s some highlights from the week.
Monday we had a fun zone activity and we had a corn hole competition, like bean bag throws. Elder Tang and I lost but it was still fun.
Tuesday we had a new student at English class and he was super interested in our church so I taught him the Restoration and just talked with him, he had a ton of questions, he said he would come to church but didn’t show up, tomorrow hopefully we see him.
Wednesday we taught H**’s wife and she’s super nice. She lives with these other Chinese people. Our evening totally fell through and nothing worked, we also got lost but because we got lost we went through this neighborhood with a ton of Chinese people outside at some park. Going there today!!
Thursday we taught H** again and she showed us more of her house. They have big dogs that just tear up the house.
Friday we went to Cafe East which is always super good but I always eat too much at buffets. We had an awesome English class. We were all laughing the whole time, it was so funny. Chinese people can be funny when you get them going.
Saturday B** GOT BAPTIZED!!!!! I got to go to the baptism and be in the water with B**. In the evening I went with Elder Mullenbach and I met this professional knife thrower, supposedly he’s like one of the top three in the whole world for his type of knife throwing, he was an interesting guy.
Sunday we had L** come to church who is new, H** and his wife also came as well. It was fast and testimony meeting. It was also Mid Autumn Festival so we did get to eat some moon cake at church, it was pretty good.
Today we’re going to have some fun at the church and go spread the Gospel!!
Interesting thing I learned.
How an Apostle is called…
Elder Christofferson said the selection and calling of new apostles to the Quorum of the Twelve is the prerogative of the president of the church.
“President Monson, I don’t know if this always has been the case, but his practice has been to ask each of his counselors and the members of the Quorum of the Twelve to give him names they would recommend for his consideration, not to discuss with each other but just individually, to give him whatever name or names they feel impressed he ought to look at,” he said.
“What process he goes through exactly, I’m not sure. That’s, again, something private he pursues. He then brings back, when he’s reached his decision and had the inspiration he needs, the name or names to the council that we have of the First Presidency and the Quorum of the Twelve Apostles to sustain it. That goes forward to general conference.”
